The design of Melburnian Logo

Melburnian — "Mo" 墨
Always moving

Melburnian begins with a simple wish: to carry the best place in the world into every step. It starts with a single character — "墨" (Mò), the first stroke of "墨尔本," Melbourne. A piece of home, written into the way we move.

Beneath that character sit four small dots. They are set free, becoming legs — because a logo about running should never stand still.

Then comes the question of what running truly feels like. To run fast is not just to run — it is to fly. So the design takes on a pair of wings: wings to carry us faster, and wings to carry our dreams higher. This is what it means to ride your own wind.

But every flight returns to earth. At the end of the day, running is real — something laced onto the feet and trusted with every stride. Looking deeper into the roots of movement leads to one of the most ancient treasures of all: the character "走" (zǒu). Today it means "to walk," but for nearly three thousand years — from around 4,000 to 1,200 years ago — it meant "to run."

The radical of "走" is placed at the foot of the logo, as its grounding and its feet. Free, fast, and always moving — it makes room for every pace. Jog or sprint, we move with you.

This is Melburnian. Always moving.
